Rethinking Marxism

RETHINKING MARXISM is an interdisciplinary journal publishing work in the areas of economics, political economy, art, anthropology, geography, feminist theory, sociology, philosophy, and cultural studies. Sponsored by the Association for Economic and Social Analysis, RM began in 1988 with a core group of graduate students and faculty members in the now-famous heterodox economics graduate program at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

In a climate of Reagonomics, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the group began to publish a journal (which, later, became part of the list at Routledge/Taylor and Francis) explicitly devoted to new trends in Marxian scholarship. While continuing to have institutional links with the University of Massachusetts Amherst, including the sponsorship of regular international conferences, RM has an international editorial board active in many areas of scholarship and activism.
